Tom Aspinall has appeared to unintentionally leak how much he was paid to be the backup for Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. The 31-year-old interim UFC heavyweight champion was cageside for the much-anticipated bout at Madison Square Garden, New York, after weighing-in as the backup fighter at 254.8 lbs.

Jon Jones shined in the main event of UFC 309 by stopping Stipe Miocic, and then teased “options” for his next massive fight.

Afterward, Jones revealed that he does not plan to retire and called to speak with UFC executives Dana White and Hunter Campbell. "If everything goes right," Jones said, "maybe we'll give you guys what you want to see," seemingly referring to a potential unification bout with interim champ Tom Aspinall.
